Bauchi SSS parades fake SSS personnel

One Isiaka Ali Pantami, a 41 year old man has been arrested in Bauchi for impersonating as an official of the State Security Service (SSS).The Assistant Director of SSS in Bauchi, Olu Justin while parading the suspect said the impersonator was arrested following information received from the public.
According to him, the suspect, an NCE holder who claimed to be an SSS official has been collecting money from people with a promise to offer them appointment. He said “Isiaka who claimed to be an SSS staff printed form which he has been selling to the public and promised to get them job in DSS but unfortunately he wrote SSD on top of the form instead of DSS, a situation that prompted one of his victims to contact our staff to confirm if we are recruiting and this led to his arrest”.
The SSS boss advised the public to disregard anybody selling employment form saying “SSS doesn’t sell recruitment form neither do we collect money for recruitment. We recruit only qualify candidates and recruitments are done in their state of origin because we don’t recruit online.”
“He called on anybody that fell victim of Isiaka to go back and collect their money.
Justin said the suspect will be transferred to the Police command for further investigation and prosecution.
Meanwhile, the suspect claimed he graduated from Federal College of Education, Gombe, said he engaged in the business due to poverty and unemployment.
Isiaka who hailed from pantami Local Government Area of Gombe state said he has been parading himself as an SSS staff since September 2013.
“I was into furniture business in Borno State but relocated to Bauchi in September due to the crisis in Maiduguri which led to destruction of my furniture workshop. I printed each form with N250 and sold it for N28,500.
When asked how many people he sold the form to, he said “I only sold one form to one Hassan in Bauchi and I regretted my action.”
