Attack: Plateau Announces Restriction Of Movement In 7 LGAs
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Wednesday, May 13th, 2015From Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Sequel to persistent attacks in some communities in Plateau, the State Government has announced restriction of movements at night in seven Local Government Areas (LGA) of the State.
This directive was made in a press statement issued Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary, State’s Ministry of Information, Mr. Christopher Bello and made available to journalists in Jos, the State capital.
The statement explained that the restriction which comes into effect immediately, would last between 10pm and 5am daily as well as cover Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Jos East, Mangu, Langtang North, Langtang South and Wase LGAs.
Bello added that security operatives have been instructed to enforce the order and beef up security across the state.
He justified the reason for the action and clarified it was taken so as to curtail the incessant attacks across villages mostly at night.
Bello called on the residents to go about their legitimate activities as well as be security conscious, saying the Government was doing everything possible to contain the renewed attacks as experienced lately.
