Atlast! PDP Congratulates Sanusi, Advises Protesters To Bury Their Weapons
Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Politics Tuesday, June 10th, 2014Three days after his appointment as the Emir of Kano, former CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally received official congratulatory message from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In the message signed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh enjoined the new Emir to emulate his predecessor, Ado Bayero by staying clear of Partisan politics.
Metuh called on the Emir to as a matter of urgency, take steps that would be aimed at uniting his people. The PDP Nationsl Publicity Secretary also advised the protesting youths to bury their swords and allow peace to reign.
The ruling party also advised the Emir to preserve the sanctity of the throne and assured that the government in power would accord him the respect that goes with the status.
“The PDP holds the office of the Emir of Kano in very high esteem. We therefore give the new Emir our prayers and urge him to ensure that the sanctity of the throne and the traditional institution are absolutely guarded and preserved.
“We are very much aware that his status has changed and we pray the Almighty Allah, who alone confers authority, to grant him the wisdom and good health to lead his people to peace and prosperity,” Metuh said.
