Atiku’s Aide Joins Adamawa Guber Race

Barely six weeks to the Adamawa State Gubernatorial bye-election, the All Progressive Congress APC candidates are increasing by the day, the latest to join the race is an aide of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Mijinyawa.
Mijinyawa, also a former Chairman of yola North Local Government Area, is believed to be the anointed candidate of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
He told supporters at the party secretariat, when he presented his letter of intent to vie for the governorship election, that he joined the race following calls by the people of the state.
“My mission is to reciprocate my achievements when I served as an elected councilor and chairman of a council in the state.
“All I desire from all of you is to give me the needed support and chance to fly the party’s flag in the governorship bye-election come October 11, 2014.
The former council boss described himself as an agent of change, saying he has what it takes and would bring his experience to bear in transforming the State.
“I will not disappoint you. You voted me a councilor 24 years ago and I delivered. You voted me Local Government Chairman of Yola North metropolis 11 years ago and I delivered, if by the grace of God you vote me in as Governor of Adamawa State I will not disappoint you.” He assured.
Also speaking at the occasion, the party Chairman of APC in Yola North Local Government, Alhaji Salihu Ahmed said the people of Yola North are known for electing only quality candidates.
He added that the people had resolved to present their own tested and trusted candidate to vie for the governor of the state under APC.
Ahmed said, Mijinyawa’s record as Local Government Chairman of Yola North metropolis was yet to be broken, hence the need for such a grassroots mobilizer and performer to be given a chance to repeat the feat across the State as Governor under the most popular grassroots party in the State.
