At Last, MASSOB Expels Uwazuruike Over Alleged Embezzlement Of N100 Million
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Tuesday, December 1st, 2015After a prolonged internal crisis, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has expelled its embattled leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.
The group announced its Director of publicity, Uchenna Madu, as replacement for Uwazurike.
Uwazurike, according to the MASSOB, was expelled for allegedly embezzling over a whopping sum of N100m.
The group in a statement it made available to newsmen, warned Uwazuruike “to stop parading himself as MASSOB leader or using the name of late Biafran warlord, Odumegwu Ojukwu name to dupe Ndigbo or garner personal fame to pursue his political ambition.”
They equally indicted the ousted MASSOB leader of defrauding them through “the introduction of the Biafra international passport, a gross and dubious means through which he generated about N100 million for himself.”
“The over N40 million realised from the dedication of the Biafran war veterans home in Okwe, built by MASSOB members, was diverted to Uwazuruike’s personal purse.”.
Similarly, MASSOB named Mr. Ugwuoke Ibem Ugwuoke as her new National Secretary.
Efforts by AFRICAN EXAMINER to get reaction of Uwazurike, was not fruitful, as his mobile phone was switched off as at the time of filing this report.
