ASUP Calls off 11 Months Strike; Members Resume Work Monday

The 11 months oldn nationwide industrial action by members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has been called off.
The ASUP National Public Relations Officer (PRO), Clement Shema made the announcement in Abuja Saturday.
According to him, the suspension decision was reached at what he described as a fruitful parley between the executives of the union and the newly-sworn in Minister of Education and former Kano State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau in Abuja on Saturday.
In the main time, ASUP has directed the nation’s Federal Polytechnics undergraduates to resume at their various campuses on Monday, July 14 as its members resume academic activities next week.
