Arrested Recharge Card Thief Dies Of Drug Overdose In Hospital

A recharge card thief arrested by the police in Dass area of Bauchi State has reportedly died at the General Hospital in Dass where he was receiving treatment as a result of alleged drug overdose.
According to information obtained from the police, the deceased was identified as Mutaka Adamu, a resident of Abuja Rama in Dass.
African Examiner gathered that the suspect was arrested on January, 14th, 2014 following a complain lodged by Nuhu Haruna, a resident of Bayan Fada in Dass that Mutaka and his conspirators allegedly stole his recharge cards.
It was further gathered that Nuhu had reported at the Dass police station and mentioned Mutaka and his cohorts allegedly broke into his shop and stole the recharge card worth N35,000 prompting the police to arrest him.
African Examiner also gathered that the prime suspect was arrested at about 7:00 pm on the aforementioned date, by Police Corporal Aminu Adamu, and brought to the police station in Dass.
It was also learnt that the police discovered that the deceased was under the influence of drugs, which prompted them to rush him to the General Hospital Dass for treatment.
Mutaka was reported to have died at the hospital where he was receiving treatment and the police have since released his corpse to his relatives.
When the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command, DSP Mohammed Haruna, was contacted, he said the case is under investigation.
