Army Donates Free Educational Materials As Exercise Golden Dawn Begins In Abia
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Wednesday, October 6th, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – As part of its Civil Military Cooperation, the Nigeria Army has donated free educational materials to hundreds of pupils in Abia State.
The 14 Brigade Nigerian Army made the donation as part of activities marking the flag-off Exercise “GOLDEN DAWN”.
Our Correspondent reports that among the beneficiary are pupils of Ogbekwe Primary School Asaga Ohafia held on 5 October 2021.
Speaking at the event, Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu represented by the Commissioner for Health Dr. Joe Osuji, warned criminal elements in the state to stay away from the area or be ready to face the music if apprehended by law enforcement agents.
He said “there is no hiding place for criminality in Abia State, noting that they are aware of the tireless efforts of the security agencies, the Nigerian Army in particular for ensuring a peaceful nation.
The governor reiterated that the state places high premium in flushing out crimes in the state.
In his speech, Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General MB Wabili disclose that the exercise is an all-embracing one that is conducted with other security agencies, especially as the ember month approaches.
He added that, to win the hearts and minds of the populace, civil military cooperation activities such as distribution of educational materials we are witnessing today, medical outreach, sanitation, provision of portable water will be executed.
He however, enjoined the populace to cooperate with security agencies, release timely and useful information that will make Abia a peaceful place.
Highlights of the occasion was the inspection of quarter guard, guided tour of the Super Camp, distribution of educational materials. The Event was hitch free.
