Army Confirms Troops killed Terrorists; Foiled Fresh Attack In Borno

The Nigerian Army has announced the troops last weekend intercepted and killed members of Boko Haram who were on a suicide mission in the North east zone of the country.
Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, confirmed this in a statement he issued Sunday, stating that the operations were carried out by the troops fighting Boko Haram in various parts of Borno State, under the name: Operation Lafiya Dole.
Col. Usman stated the troops of 25 Task Force Brigade ambushed and killed a Boko Haram terrorist suicide bomber at Kumala and Musafanari villages general area on Saturday night, thus effectively saving lives and properties of innocent citizens.
The army image maker informed that the Military on receipt of information laid an ambush for the terrorists, at their suspected crossing point and succeeded in intercepting the suicide bomber who was on a “suicide mission”, from Sambisa general area.
Items recovered Col Usman highlighted included: a motorcycle, 12 primed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a hand bag containing personal effects, including a hijab obviously meant for “disguise and concealment of explosives for the intended nefarious act”
He laso said the troops of 7 Brigade of Nigerian Army early Sunday morning ambushed and killed seven Boko Haram terrorists at Dawashi area of Borno State.
This according to the army Spokesman was possible as the troops laid in wait at the terrorists’ suspected crossing point; engaged them on sight; killed seven terrorists and recovered 1 Peugeot Station Wagon loaded with 2,010 litres of Premium Motor Spirit packed in 67 Jerri cans, uniforms, some materiels and Improvised Explosive making Devices (IEDs).
Also recovered from the terrorists were, dry cell batteries, 1 AK-47 rifle, tools and fish.
