Ruling is ongoing by an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on the appeal filed before it by the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku.
Governor Ishaku is appealing against the ruling by the State’s Election Petition Tribunal delivered November 7, 2015, which upturned his victory and ordered his main challenger, Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Aisha Alhassan to be sworn as the Governor.
The five-man panel led by Justice Danladi Abubakar then ruled that the opposition PDP primary, conducted in Abuja and in which Ishaku was declared the winner, did not comply with the Electoral act.
Justice Abdul Aboki-led five-man appeal panel which reserved judgement December 21, after all parties adopted their written addresses, is expected to rule on Governor Ishaku’s appeal – to set aside the lower court ruling and upheld his election as well as the cross appeal filed by Alhassan of the ruling APC.
