APM Rejects Ogun Guber Results, Alleges Irregularities
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Sunday, March 10th, 2019OGUN, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Ogun State Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has rejected the ongoing election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The APM Campaign Director General, Mr. Sarafa Ishola, made the announcement Sunday at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Ishola admitted that the election began peacefully Saturday, still, alleged it was hijacked by hoodlums and “unidentified uniformed men” during the collation stage.
The DG alleged that the results were manipulated in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the APM had already petitioned INEC in the state to investigate the “infractions” and stop announcement of results forthwith.
Ishola expressed concern that, despite the complaints, the INEC has started announcing the results.
The Governorship candidate of the APM – the anointed candidate of the outgoing Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Adekunle Akinlade said: “The people of Ogun state has been raped,” adding that the party ‘’will seek all legal means to “undo the injustice.
