Opposition Caucus in the Nigerian Senate has demanded full scale investigation into the alleged missing 4.9 billion dollars crude oil proceeds.
Senate minority leader, Senator George Akume who made the call at a news conference in Abuja said the volume of money involved is so huge that the matter cannot be swept under the carpet.
Akume also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to address the nation on the alleged missing fund in order to clear the air on the allegation which has gone viral on social media and in the news.
According to Akume, members of the opposition in the senate would not keep quiet until the allegation is thoroughly investigated and the culprits bring to book.
Recall that the CBN governor Lamido Sanusi sparked off the controversy following a letter he wrote to the President alleging non-remittance of oil proceeds received between January 2012 to July 2013.
