Former Vice President and APC Presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to accept consensus arrangement ahead of the Presidential primary election of the party.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar disclosed this during his mobilization tour to governor Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa state in Lafia on Saturday.
He said he would accept consensus arrangement, if all APC Presidential aspirants unanimously agree to adopt one aspirant ahead of party primaries slated for December 2, 2014.
“I am not against consensus arrangement, as long as all APC presidential aspirants unanimously adopt one aspirant. I will support any arrangement, be it consensus or direct primary election if the process is transparent.
“I am ready for any of the two options. Our priority in the party is to take over powe from PDP in 2015”. Turaki of Adamawa added.
Governor Tanko al-Makura had earlier urged Atiku Abubakar and other presidential aspirants to accept consensus arrangement to promote spirit of oneness in the party.
He noted that the arrangement would prevent the party from post primary election crisis.
