APC Governors Okay Consensus Presidential Candidate

The governors under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the adoption of consensus presidential candidate for the party.
The Chairman, Progressives Governors Forum who doubles as Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha made the position of the forum known after their meeting in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Okorocha said the forum support for consensus method of choosing the presidential and other candidates for the party to promote harmony and oneness.
In his words; “On consensus, our forum is in full support of consensus as one of the ways to produce our presidential candidate or any candidate in the party for as long as it is done with regards for internal democracy. There will be no imposition of candidate in our party.
“Our Forum has not adopted any candidate neither has the Governors’ Forum adopted any candidate but we shall encourage consensus and dialogue within the leadership of the party and aspirants to see how we come up with a candidate. But where that is not possible, like true progressives, we shall have a free and fair primaries from the APC.”
Meanwhile, Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso has vowed not to step down for General Muhammadu Buhari nor Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ahead of the main opposition presidential primary election.
