APC Chieftain Slams Fayose Over Do-or-Die Mantra On 2015 Election
Latest Headlines, Nigeria 2015 Election Tuesday, January 6th, 2015The Chairman of the campaign Committee for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Cardinal James Odunmbaku has slammed Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose over a statement credited to him at the weekend in which he called for the use of police and army to ensure the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s success at the incoming general elections.
Cardinal Odunmbaku in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday through his publicity secretary, Mr. Seyi Bamigbade said Fayose’s comment is coming from his great fear for the expected and imminent change of government at the federal level after the February 2015 general elections.
The statement had it that: “APC will not tolerate or succumb to any form of intimidation during the incoming general elections. Elections are won by people’s vote not by intimidation and force. PDP is known for intimidating voters to submission but just like they failed in Osun State during the gubernatorial election, they will fail again.
“Fayose should be cautioned by is party leadership from making unguarded utterances. Since he became Ekiti State Governor, his statements have been hitting up the polity. Our party is however hopeful that APC being the party favoured by Nigerians will emerge the overall winners in the 2015 election.
“The entire Nigeria is ready for change because everyone is tired of PDP government. They are cluelessness has plunged the country into deep economic crises. Their government continue to inflict pains on Nigerians and Nigerians are saying no. By the time APC takes over in 2015, Nigerians will be liberated from their sufferings.”
Odunmbaku enjoined Nigerians who have attained voting age to obtain their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) so as for them to be eligible to vote in the elections.
At an inaugural meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) South-West held in Akure on Saturday, Governor Fayose had been quoted as saying that owing to the importance of the presidential election; the party should concentrate it saying, once President Jonathan is re-elected, everything else would fall into place and the party could declare the governorship candidates of PDP in various States as it likes.
