Anti-Al’Makura Legislators At last Appear Before Misconduct Investigative Panel
Featured, Latest Headlines, News, Politics Tuesday, August 5th, 2014The anti – Governor Umaru Tanko Al – Makura of Nasarawa state appear to have had a rethink with their previous stance of not having confidence in the seven man investigative panel probing misconduct allegation against the State number one citizen, as their representatives appear before the Yusuf Usman – led panel this morning.
African Examiner Correspondent in Lafia, the state capital reported that about 20 legislators pushing for impeachment on the 16 count charges against embattled Al -Makura were now being represented by a team of six Lawyers, led by Mr. Ocha Ulegede before the investigative panel.
The lawmakers through its Chairman, Committee on Information, Hon Baba Ibaku yesterday vowed they would not appear before the panel as they lack confidence in its membership for allegedly being the supporters of the troubled state Governor.
They have at another time (last week) requested the state Chief Judge, Justice Suleimon Dikko to dissolve the panel and constitute another one. The demand till now is yet to receive any endorsement, hence the existence of the Usman’s panel.
