Another UNIBEN student shot dead In Cold Blood

Barely two weeks after a 300 level student of the Department of Chemistry, University of Benin, Edo state, was murdered in a cold blood by unknown persons, another student of the institution has been sent to his untimely grave by suspected cultists.
The victim simply identified as James, was until his sad death on Tuesday, a student in the department of Vocational and Technical Education.
African Examiner gathered that he was murdered at Ekosodin community, a neighborhood mainly inhabited by students of the university.
Our Correspondent reports that James’ killing is coming on the heels of the murder of Ejiroghene Gbenedio, about two weeks ago.
Gbenedio, a 300-level student of the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Physical Sciences, was axed to death within the university campus by yet to be identified persons.
The latest victim’s remains was conveyed in a white-coloured police Hilux van to the Accident and Emergency Ward of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital UBTH on Tuesday, where doctors confirmed him dead.
His shattered head indicated that he was shot at a very close range by his killers.
A source in Ekosodi, who craved anonymity, disclosed that the deceased James was returning home after watching a football match at a viewing centre within the community when he encountered his killers.
Meanwhile, the ugly incident has thrown the entire Ekosodin community and environs into tension and fear.
