Andy Uba tears Jonathan, Wike apart as Education Minister bankrolls Uba’s Gov. ambition

All may not go down well with the President, Goodluck Jonathan and his Rivers strong man and Minister for State,Education, Nyeso Wike due to the Minister’s secret alliance with the embattled Senator and Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Anambra State, Andy Uba.

Information reaching us has it that while Wike is said to be supporting Jonathan against his state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, he is said to be neck-deep involved in the effort to ensure that Senator Andy Uba flies the flag of the PDP in the forth-coming governorship polls in Anambra State.

According our source who is a close confidant of the Minister,but who pleaded anonymity, Wike is indebted to Andy Uba irrespective of the alleged refusal of the President using the Party’s machinery to endorse the emergence of Andy Uba as against Tony Nwoye who is the preferred choice of the Party’s hierarchy led by Bamanga Tukur.

It was gathered that Uba it was who that facilitated Wike’s appointment as Minister after his nomination by Gov. Amaechi suffered a setback when the President refused to confirm Wike’s appointment. Wike and Andy became close through the Attorney- General and Minister of Justice, Bello Adoke who is said to be a very close ally of Uba.

This may be a pay-back time for Wike who is said to be stopping at nothing to ensure that Uba emerged victorious. Our source revealed that it was Wike and Adoke who moved the legal battle to the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt instead of Enugu. The choice of Port Harcourt was to ensure that Uba got a favouarble judgment since Wike is said to be enjoying the support of the judiciary and the Police in the State.

In defiance to the Tukur-led Party’s position, Senator Uba supported by Wike and Adoke have succeeded in obtaining judgment from the Court in Port Harcourt urging INEC and PDP to recognize Andy Uba as its candidate while restraining Tony Nwoye from being paraded as the candidate of the PDP in the November 16 governorship polls in Anambra state.

President Jonathan, it was gathered is not favorably disposed towards Andy Uba due to his allegiance to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

It is evident that the President and Wike who lately has been used to confront Gov. Amaechi’s influence and strong hold in Rivers state, may fall apart because of the Minister’s show of divided loyalty.

This also may be a confirmation of the position of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Initiative, PDI, Chuks Enyndah, who spoke to our correspondent on the state of the nation. Enyindah said,”we know the duo of Amaechi and Wike. While Amaechi is somewhat independent while Wike is not loyal ti anybody but to his own interest”.
