Anambra Youths Demand Immediate Release Of Olisa Metuh

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Youths from various parts of Anambra state, south east Nigeria, on Tuesday staged a protest that paralysed socio and economic activities in parts of the state, over the continued detention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh by operatives of the Department of State Security DSS.
The protesters, numbering of 5,000 had during the exercise called for the immediate release of the PDP spokesman, who is from the state, and is being held by the DSS over alleged 400 million Dasuki arms money.
The protesting youths who wielded placards with various inscriptions, started their procession from the PDP state secretariat in Awka, the Anambra state capital, and marching through some major cities.
Some of the inscription in the placards read: thus “Buhari leave our Olisa Metuh alone,” “EFCC shouldn’t be allowed to be dragged into politics.”
The protesters however, vowed to continue their protest on a daily basis until Metuh is set free from the anti graft agency’s net.
