Anambra Police Demolish Kidnappers Horror Buildings, Parade Fake Priest, Others

Less than two months after it demolished a building belonging to a kidnap kingpin, Governor Willie Obiano, of Anambra on Tuesday, ordered the destruction of another four bungalows belonging to suspected notorious kidnappers in the state.

Government also revoked the Certificates of Occupancy C-of- O of the four buildings.

African Examiner gathered that the buildings were located in Awkuzu, in Oyi council area of the State.

Two of the structures, a church and a residential building were located in Umuobi, Awkuzu, while the others were sited at Dusogu, and Ifite villages in same Awkuzu.

It was also learnt that two of the buildings belonged to one Pastor Ifeanyi Nwaezeagu, the General Overseer, of a Pentecostal Church – Unchangeable God Ministries Awkuzu.

The demolition came on the heels of the State Police Command’s parade of 15 arrested suspected kidnappers and armed bandits with assorted sophisticated arms and ammunitions at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Headquarters, Awkuzu.

Some of the dangerous weapons found on the suspects paraded alongside the hoodlums were one Rocket Launcher, one Rocket, 50 magazines for AK 47, 300 rounds of 7.62 mm life ammunition, among others.

The officer in charge OC of SARS Anambra State, James Nwafor and state Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Operations, Olafimihan Adeoye, as well as the Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Chukwuemeka led the team to the collapse exercise and parade sites.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the parade, Chukwuemeka, disclosed that 10 of the suspects were kidnappers while 5 were armed robbers and car snatching syndicate.

The PPRO commended the OC, SARS and his men for fishing out the suspects.

He confirmed that Pastor Nwaezeagu has raked in several millions of Naira from kidnapping and was involved in the abduction of many wealthy Anambra men, including a priest.

The Police Spokesperson also hinted that the General Overseer was fake and his confessional statements have led to the smashing of his gang.
