Anambra Awaits Supplementary Election Result

The supplementary election of the November 16th inconclusive Anambra state governorship election held Saturday in 210 polling units of the state has ended.
African Examiner’s correspondent covering the election reports that Anambra state electorates are now waiting anxiously for the official announcement of the result of the exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
It is expected that a clear winner will emerge today. The supplementary election, took place in a total of 210 polling units in 16 local government areas of the state.
As at the time of filling this report, the state Resident electoral Commissioner, (REC,) Professor Chukwuemeka Onukaogu, and other electoral officers that participated in the conduct of the election, are busy inside the INEC office with documentation of the results, with a view to making it public any time from now.
Meanwhile, the entire premises of INEC secretariat located along the state House of Assembly road Awka, the state capital, has been taken over by heavily armed security operatives.
