Amaechi’s Govt on Course – Rivers New PDP

Against deliberate attempts by those opposed to the administration of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi the Rivers State chapter of the New Peoples Democratic Party, PDP , says it will be futile an attempt to distract the administration, adding that for those who seek to occupy the governor’s seat, 2015 is the earliest date.
The PDP in a statement issued in Abuja immediately after the Supreme Court adjourned further hearing in the matter instituted by Sir Celestine Omehia seeking the apex court to declare the April 2011 gubernatorial election at which Amaechi got re-elected a nullity, signed by its State Publicity Secretary, George Ukwuoma-Nwogba, said the administration is on course to deliver development.
The statement read in part, “Amaechi’s government is on course. In as much as we may not wish to praise the learned and highly respected Supreme Court Justices, the drama in the nation’s topmost court today showed how confused are those seeking for Amaechi’s seat.”
While commending the party faithful for keeping faith with the administration and Governor Amaechi, the statement wondered why the anti-Amaechi camp is desperate for power. “They will stop at nothing in distracting the focused governor who has committed himself to the service of Rivers State.”
It further stated, “The same people were today seeking for adjournment, all tactic to stay the cause of development in Rivers State. Let them be told that there’s no vacancy in Brick House until 2015.”
