Al’Makura Misconduct Probe Panel Begins Sitting In Lafia
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Monday, August 4th, 2014The embattled Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al’Makura appeared before the Yusuf Usman-led seven man investigative panel, just rounded off the day’s sitting in Lafia, the state capital.
Al’Makura who is answering 16 count charges pressed against him by about 20 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the State’s House of Assembly made good his promise last week that he would respond to the panel summon today.
Our Lafia Correspondent reported that the Governor arrived in company of top government officials, party stalwarts and supporters to the venue of the panel sitting in the state capital.
The state’s Chief Judge, Justice Suleimon Dikko, constituted the panel about two weekends ago. The anti-Al’Makura legislators last week demanded for dissolution of the panel on the allegation that members were supporters of the Governor, therefore lacked confidence in it.
The lawmakers also relocated to another local government for its plenary session owing to alleged threat to their lives by the Al’Makura’s allies.
