Allegation Of Fraudulent Enrichment Against Amaechi’s Administration Baseless, Ill-Conceived -Ex-Commissioners

By Ayo Balogun – Two former Rivers State government officials under the administration of Chibuike Amaechi have written  to President Buhari explaining that allegations of corruption and fraudulent enrichment against the former Rivers governor and his administration were untrue adding that facts of the issues were grossly twisted.

Former SSG, George Peyii and Former Commissioner of Finance, Chamberlain Peterside argued that transparency was the hallmark of Amaechi’s administration as they offered a detailed response to specific issues raised in a petition against the former Rivers state governor.

Their response is contained below in the attached documents (PDF):

Response To Petition Against Amaechi

Similarly, prominent Indigenes of Rivers State in Port Harcourt have criticized the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for dragging the former Governor of the State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

In a press statement issued in Port Harcourt, the indigenes described the move as mischievous, blackmail and senseless.

The PDP Deputy Publicity Secretary in Rivers, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike on Tuesday petitioned the EFCC to investigate  Amaechi’ s administration over allegations of fraudulent enrichments

However, Dr. George Jackson and Mrs. Gloria Racheal wondered why the PDP did not write a petition against Amaechi during the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Specifically, Dr. Jackson said,” It is now clear that the PDP is parochial and senseless in criticizing…Jonathan was there for 6 years and never wrote a petition against Amaechi. Why is it now that they are doing all this? is it because they know Amaechi likely to emerge as Secretary of the Government of Federation and looking for all means to dent his integrity,”?
