All is now set for Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra state, as heavily armed security operatives have mounted check-points in all the nooks and crannies of Awka, the state capital.
However, the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), located along the state House of Assembly road, off Alex Ekwueme way is now a beehive of activities.
Already, over two hundred uniform and plain cloth security men have been stationed at the INEC office.
As at the time of filling this report, no fewer than 500 local and international journalists have been accredited so far by the electoral body to cover the election, just as twenty three (23) local and international observer groups have also been accredited to monitor the poll.
A total of 23 registered political parties are participating in the tomorrow’s gubernatorial poll in the state.
