Akpabio Emerges Senate Minority Leader
Featured, Latest Headlines, Politics Tuesday, July 28th, 2015By Ayo Balogun – The Nigerian Senate has announced other Principal Officers with the former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio emerging the Senate Minority Leader.
Also announced Tuesday by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki were Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the Deputy Minority Leader and Senator Phillips Aduda, the new Senate Minority Whip.
The upper chamber has been on recess for about three weeks ago, after Saraki unveiled the first set of the Principal Officers, which included the Senate Leader and its Deputy.
The House of Representatives is believed to be currently at the caucus session after which it is expected to announce its Principal Officers, the process which was aborted about three weeks ago due to a rowdy session and free for all clash among members.
