Again, Unknown Gunmen Abduct Former President Jonathan’s Cousin In Bayelsa

For the second time within two years, unknown gunmen have abducted the first cousin and foster father of the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Inengite Nitabai.
Chief Nitabai, a former academia was abducted early hours of Wednesday – around 3.30am when his assailants stormed his residence beside the creek, located off the Onuebum-Otuoke Road and close to Otuoke bridge in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State.
In the meantime, the State Police Command has since confirmed the incident.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Asinim Butswat, narrated: “On February 17, 2016, at about 0330 hours, seven unknown gunmen abducted Chief Inengite Nitabai in his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area”.
The Police Spokesperson also confirmed that a massive manhunt has been launched by a combined team of Marine Police as well as anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command, to rescue the victim and track the abductors.
Butswat also affirmed that investigation was still ongoing.
It would be recalled the 72 – year –old Nitabai suffered similar fate in March 2014, when abducted by 10 armed men but released about three weeks later after a harrowing experience.
