Again, France Pledges Support To Nigeria On Anti-Terrorists War

Again, the French authority has pledged to work with the Nigerian Military so as to improve human capacities and develop operational capability in the fight against Boko Haram terrorists.
Commander of French Forces in Senegal, Brigadier General Pascal Facon made the new pledge Thursday, during his courtesy visit to the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Olonisakin at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja.
Brig. Facon, while noting that the visit was in furtherance of the French Government’s desired bilateral cooperation with the Nigerian Armed Forces, said the new move was aimed at charting the ways for the two countries to work together so as to develop a long-term military cooperation in the area of training courses for the Nigerian military.
“The visit was also embarked to create an opportunity for the French Government to develop a full spectrum of operational cooperation and maritime securities” Facon added.
Major General Barry Ndiomu who stood in for CDS, acknowledged the efforts of the French Government in assisting the Nigeria military operations especially on the anti-terrorist war, stating this confirmed that the Nigerian Armed Forces have a lot to benefit from its French counterpart.
Recall, delegates from French Directorates of Military Intelligence and another from International Relations and Strategy of the French Ministry of Defence recently visited the CDS to further intensify intelligence gathering and sharing between the two countries.
