Again, 22 People killed in Plateau Village Attack

The killing of innocent villagers has continued unabated in Plateau State, as another 22 persons were killed on Thursday by unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Mavo village of Wase local government, which is a predominantly Taroh speaking villages.
Witnesses told African Examiner that the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday saying the assailants burnt down over ten houses.
It was further gathered that the incident created tension in Wase town as youths came out to protest the killings, but were repelled by security operatives.
Nangak, a youth in the community told journalists that the attackers came to the village in their hundreds and started shooting sporadically.
When the Interim Administrator of Wase, Zakari Haruna, was contacted on phone, he confirmed the attack and said peace has been restored to the community, he declined to comment on number of persons killed but he confirmed that lots of houses were burnt.
Also confirming the attack, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Felicia Aslem said she has not been fully briefed of those killed.
This is coming barely 48hours after 24 persons were killed in Riyom LGA.
