Adamawa Governorship Election Holds October 11 -INEC
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Tuesday, August 12th, 2014The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed October 11, 2014 for the Adamawa state governorship election.
The former governor, Murtala Nyako was impeached on July 15 after a heated battle with members of the State House of Assembly over allegation of corruption and mismanagement of government funds.
The state Residential Electoral Commissioner, Kasim Gaidam, announced the new date of the governorship election on Tuesday.
Under the 1999 Constitution, a new governor or president must to be elected within 90 days in the event of an impeachment of a former holder of the office.
