Adamant Saraki Defies Party’s Order, Announces Ndume, Na’Alla Senate Leader , Deputy
Breaking News, Featured, Latest Headlines, National News, News Thursday, June 25th, 2015By Ganiyu Nasirudeen – In contradiction to the party’s nomination, Senate President, Bukola Saraki Thursday at the plenary session announced Senator Ali Ndume from Borno State as the new 8th Senate Leader.
Similarly, Saraki announced Senator Bala Ibn Na’Alla from kebbi State as the new Deputy Senate Leader.
He also announced Senator Francis Alimikhena from Edo State as the Deputy Chief Whip while Senator Olushola Adeyeye from Osun State was picked for Senate Chief Whip position.
The nomination aligned with Saraki’s choice, but was allegedly rejected by the South West Senators.
The announcement evoked objection from APC Senator, Kabiru Marafa, as he explained the announcement ran contrary to the necessary guideline for the appointment of Senate Principal Officers, but he was ruled out of order by Saraki.
In the meantime, the Senate President has adjourned the senate sitting to July 21st, 2015.
