Abuja Emab Blast; US Condemns killings, Renews Commitment to Stable Nigeria
Latest Headlines, News Thursday, June 26th, 2014The United States of America (USA) has condemned Wednesday bomb blast at Emab plaza in Wuse II, area of Abuja metropolis.
In a statement issued by its Embassy in Abuja, the eruption which left over 20 people dead including a journalist and scores injured, US described the incident as “heartless and violent attacks on innocent Nigerians are inexcusable and clearly bespeak the criminality of those behind these attacks in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria,”
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and call on all Nigerians regardless of region or religion to join in and support efforts to put an end to this evil against humanity”, stated the statement.
The Embassy added that US remained committed to supporting the people of Nigeria in their struggle against violent extremism and to helping the Government of Nigeria as it worked to counter these threats to citizens and its national unity.
The blast at the shopping Mall is the latest and third in Abuja this year, in which many souls were perished.
