Abia Police Rescues Kidnapped Business Woman In Aba

A team of crack Policemen from the Aba Area Command of Abia state have rescued an Aba based business woman, Mrs. Joy Okoronkwo, who was kidnapped last Saturday from the hands of her wicked abductors.
Our correspondent gathered that the victim was abandoned in a bush along the Obikabia road at about 5pm on Wednesday by the hoodlums when they noticed that the police was closing in on them.
A police source close to the Aba area command who do not want his name in the print disclosed that the kidnappers were traced to their hideout by the police after their location was discovered through a modern tracking device facility.
African Examiner gathered that immediately their hideout was tracked down, a combined team of police men from the Aba Area Command led by, Anari Anari ,an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP stormed the place and cordoned the area.
The security operatives, without wasting time launched an assault on the criminals which forced them to flee the area, abandoning their victim in the bush.
African Examiner reports that Mrs. Okoronkwo, who operates a shop at the Aba Shopping Plaza, was abducted at last Saturday in company of her husband as they were about driving into their compound located at No.4 Dennis road, Ogbor Hill, Aba, by three heavily armed men operating in a dark blue Toyota Camry saloon car.
However, a resident of the area who identified him self as James Ukaonu, said the armed men shot sporadically into the air before whisking the woman away to an unknown destination that fateful day.
When contacted , the, Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna said he was yet to be briefed about the woman’s release, but a senior police officer at the Aba Area Command, who do not want to be quoted in the media confirmed the development saying the woman has since reunited with her family members who were thrown into confusion since the ugly incident took place.
