Abia Police Parade Student Armed Robbery Gang

The Abia state police Command have arrested a gang of students armed robbery suspects, involving a student of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo state, and a graduate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), Abia state.
According to the police,”Uzoukwu Chukwudi, a 21-year-old male student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo state, and Christopher Johnson (aka Sena), a graduate of Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) were apprehended while robbing in a female hostel at the school.
Meanwhile, the Command has expressed concern over the growing involvement of students in tertiary institutions in violent crimes, especially armed robbery, saying that the development was becoming worrisome.
Disclosing this while Parading the suspects in Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Thursday, the state police public Relations officer PPRO, Ezekiel Udeviotu, alleged that they were involved in armed robbery, and would be charged to court soon.
However, AFRICAN EXAMINER,reports that the arrest is coming barely few days after it was reported that two students of Abia State owned University, Uturu, were allegedly beheaded by cult reprisal attack on March 12th 20o16.
 The PPRO, said “one of the culprits, Chukwudi who claimed to be an ND 2 student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede is co-operating with the Police in the investigation on the armed robbery incident.
