Abia Police Killed Notorious kidnapping Kingpin; Round Up Gang Members

Policemen in Ohuru Isimiri Division of the Abia State Command recorded a gallant feat on Sunday, as they shot dead a kidnapping kingpin, whose gang had allegedly been tormenting Aba commercial city and its environs.
African Examiner learnt that one Prince Ndubuisi Christopher early April this year was kidnapped by the gang led by Chigadi, as he was entering his compound on Church Road, Osusu Umuikpegh, near Aba.
The hoodlums were also said to have snatched the victim’s vehicle – Nissan Xtera Sport Utility Vehicle SUV with registration number, Abuja RBC 305 AA.
The development, African Examiner gathered led to intensive combing of the suspects’ hideout by policemen under the supervision of the Divisional Police Officer (DP0) of
Ohuru Isimiri, Mr Titus Anayo Ugwoke. The operation it was revealed led to the rescue of the victim, after two days.
However, nemesis caught up with Chigadi, the alleged kingpin when the police got information that he, together with other members of his gang were in a hotel located within Ukwu Agbu area of the city, strategizing for the next operation.
Acting on a tip-off, the Aba Police Area Commander Mr. Peter Wagbara, deployed more operatives led by DPO to raid the hotel.
It was gathered that on sighting the police team, the gang opened fire but in the gun duel, the kingpin was hit by a bullet, culminating in his death on the way to the hospital.
Two other members of the gang including a woman, were also arrested, while others escaped .The gang was alleged to be responsible for the kidnap of a young woman at Eastern Ngwa a forth night ago but later was released after family members paid an undisclosed ransom.
Policemen were said to have recovered some stolen items from the house of the arrested gang members.
In a related development, the police stormed a house on Bible College Road, Umuelendu, near Aba, where a woman simply identified as Grace, allegedly sponsors kidnappers and child traffickers resides. The suspect was arrested alongside other hoodlums.
