53-Year-Old Man Arraigned for Stealing N1.6m Car

A 53 year old man, Ochonna Ifeanyichukwu Loveday was on Friday arraigned at Ikeja Magistrate court on a two count charge bothering on attempt felony and stealing.
Ochonna allegedly stole an unregistered Honda Accord Saloon car 1998/1999 model and another unregistered Toyota Corolla car 1999 model, both valued at N1.6 million, on the 22nd of August, 2013 at 1, Stella Sholanke Street, Ajao Estate Ikeja. Both cars are the properties of one prince Lawrence Gbadebo.
Police Prosecutor Edet Okoi said that both offences are punishable under section 21(1)(a)(b) and section 285(1)9a)(5)(a)(b) of criminal law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2001.
However, when the charges were read to the defendants, he pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Dan-Oni granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, and adjourned the matter to 4th December, 2013.
