5 Days To Election: Clampdown On APC Leaders, Loyalists Begins
Latest Headlines, News, Politics Monday, August 4th, 2014Five day to go for the Osun Governorship election, Hon. Yemi Oke, a leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Obokun Local Government has been arrested by security forces.
He was said to have been arrested by “Special Forces” from Abuja led by local Peoples Democratic Party, PDP leaders at about 2.30 am ON Monday.
Kunle Oyatomi, Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, APC, Osun Chapter, said the “Special Forces” had earlier in the night visited his Ilare-Ijesa home to arrest him but was not found.
“The PDP leaders then led the special force to his Osogbo residence where he was picked up and hounded into detention.
“Up until the release of this statement, the fate of Hon. Oke remains unknown while no security agency has explained the reason for the arrest and detention of Hon. Oke,” he said.
There have been anxiety over the Osun election as the APC had earlier on Monday ordered all its elected members from all over the nation to move to Osun State on Tuesday to lend support to its candidate, Rauf Aregbesola.
