2022: Ugwuanyi Presents N186 Billion Naira To Enugu House Of Assembly
Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Wednesday, December 8th, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Governor Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, has presented a budget estimate of 186 billion naira to the state House Assembly for the 2022 fiscal year.
Presenting the proposal titled: ‘budget of Sustained growth and consolidation’ to the state lawmakers Tuesday, the governor, expressed determination to complete all ongoing projects embarked upon by his administration.
He listed some of the new projects across the state, to include roads, bridges, schools, and a new stadium in Oji among others.
Ugwuanyi, noted that the 2022 budget is 9.9% higher than that of last year.
According to him, the recurrent expenditure in the budget estimate will take N71.447bn which represents 38.00 percent while the capital budget gets a N115.158bn which represents 62 percent Of the 2022 budget.
He said the 2022 Budget is part of his administrations 8-point agenda, stressing that the 2021 budget achieved most of its set out agenda despite the economic hardship occasioned by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Some of the major projects in the 2022 budget include the completion of all ongoing projects viz-a-viz Construction of Flyover at T-junction by Nike lake Resort centre, Nike Road, Abakpa Nike, purchase of 10 tractors, provision of agricultural inputs, establishment and reconstruction of abattoirs, purchase of waste disposal compactor trucks and dump sites.
The governor however thanked the House for it’s robust support to the executive, especially the speedy passage of the 2021 budget, and urged them to continue supporting his administration like they have always done.
In his speech, Speaker of the House, Chief Edward Ubosi, had lauded the governor for always presenting realizable budgets.
