The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital has dismissed petition before it by the opposition PDP State Governorship candidate, Gboyega Isiaka and upheld the victory of the incumbent Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Amosun’s victory is being challenged at the Tribunal, by his main rival, Isiaka, who challenged that the April 11 poll did not substantially comply with the Electoral act (amended), especially in the nine out of 20 Local Government areas of the South West State, therefore be cancelled
While delivering his judgment Friday, Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice Henry Olusiyi, ruled that the petitioner and the candidate of the PDP failed totally to prove his case, with respect to claims of fraud and various Electoral flaws, in the Council areas in question, beyond the reasonable doubt.
Justice Olusiyi in his over four hours ruling at the State’s High court premises, Isabo therefore held that, the Petitioner’s case was dismissed for want of merit.
