2015: Ogun PDP Debunks Merger With Labour Party

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter has described the rumour that it has merged with Labour Party of Nigeria (LP) as a mere speculations.
The party chairman said this while receiving about 2,000 defectors from other political parties into the PDP in Ota, Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state and promised that the party will give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a good fight at the 2015 elections.
Dayo, maintained that the PDP remains a party to beat in the state and in Nigeria.
The defectors, including a former member of the State House of Assembly were drawn from the 16 wards of the Local Government, and according to the leader of the group, Oluwo Asade, they have decided to join the PDP after an unfair treatment by the ruling party, APC, in the state.
The State Chairman, Mr. Bayo Dayo, however charged the defectors while handing the party’s flag to them to be committed to the ideals and principles of the party.
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to reposition the party for victory in 2015, the party has announced Thursday, March 6, 2014, as commencement date for the registration of its members.
