Former Adamawa state acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has resumed his former position as the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, vowing to be in the vanguard of using legislative arm of government to defend democracy and rid the state of bad governance.
The sacked Acting Governor made the statement during the plenary session Tuesday while addressing members of the state legislative House.
Finitri expressed appreciation to members of the House on their co-operation, especially during his brief reign as the Acting Governor.
Similarly, he thanked them for passing a vote of confidence on him and their resolve to salvage the state.
Finitri was sacked last week Wednesday, by an Abuja High court which ordered immediate swearing in of Deputy to the former state Governor (Muritala Nyako), James Bala Ngilari, as a substantive Governor.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola ruled that Ngilari’s resignation letter addressed to the House of Assembly, in July this year, while his former boss was still in power was illegal, null and void.
