1 Dies, 8 Rescued In Another Lagos Boat Mishaps

One person has been confirmed dead and eight others rescued as another boat capsized at Bonny Camp area of Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around Bonny Camp when the boat said to be coming from Ilashe took a nose dive before emptying the passengers in the high sea.
A top official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said a woman identified as Claire died in the mishap while the remaining eight were rescued and treated in the hospital and discharged.
As at the time of filling this report the body of a middle-age woman identified Claire had been recovered, even as rescue team comb the water ways for more casualties..
The deceased, it was gathered lived at Oregun area of Lagos, while the body of the woman had been deposited in a mortuary.
LASEMA source says, “we tried to search for more bodies but only the body of a woman was found. So we will still continue our rescue operations tomorrow.”
