Concerned about the spread of deadly Ebola virus, Swansea City manager Garry Monk has threatened to prevent Wilfried Bony from traveling to Sierra Leone when Ivory Coast visit for their 2015 African Nations Cup qualifier.<\/p>\n
Monk is set to get tough in order to avoid Bony being thrown into an Ebola nightmare.<\/p>\n
The West African nation has been at the centre of the deadly Ebola outbreak.<\/p>\n
Monk said he would withdraw Bony from international duty to ensure his \u00a312million striker, scorer of 25 goals last season, is not put in harm\u2019s way.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe paid a lot of money for Wilfried, and you have to look after your assets.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur medical team and doctors will converse with him, which is the most important thing. If there are any concerns between us and we feel this could really be a problem then we would have to pull him out.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am not here to stop any player representing his country. But if you have an asset like that and there were major concerns the liability lies with us, not their country or federation.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlayers would have to understand and Wilf is a clever lad.\u201d<\/p>\n
The striker, along with Manchester City\u2019s Yaya Toure and Newcastle\u2019s Cheick Tiote are expected to join the rest of the squad for the crucial encounter next month.<\/p>\n
