Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of multi-million deals to sign both Edinson Cavani and Cesc Fabregas.<\/p>\n
Bosses at United bosses are said to have spent the past six months weighing up the pair with a view to bringing them to Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
Uruguay striker Cavani has been on the Red Devils’ transfer hit list last season, with ex-manager David Moyes travelling to watch him in action in Paris three times.<\/p>\n
The Paris Saint-Germain frontman is unsettled at the French champions and keen on a move to the Premier League, according to the Daily Star.<\/p>\n
Yet new United boss Louis Van Gaal is believed to have ruled out a move for the player.<\/p>\n
Cavani joined PSG in a \u00a355m deal from Napoli last summer.<\/p>\n
However, he is understood to have become frustrated at playing second fiddle to Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.<\/p>\n
Cavani reportedly told United he would only join them if he was put on the same \u00a3300,000-a-week wages as England star Wayne Rooney – a demand chief executive Ed Woodward is said to be unwilling to meet.<\/p>\n
The club have also admitted defeat in their bid to sign Barcelona ace Cesc Fabgregas.<\/p>\n
The \u00a345 million-rated ex-Arsenal star has been on United’s wish list for more than a year but Van Gaal is now said to have turned his attention elsewhere.<\/p>\n
A senior United source told the newspaper: “It won’t be happening due to a combination of reasons.”<\/p>\n
