Bayern Munich chief Karl Hopfner says the club will not budge in their contract negotiations with Manchester United target Toni Kroos.<\/p>\n
German ace Kroos is a top target for new boss Louis Van Gaal this summer, as looks to turn around United’s fortunes after their calamitous fall from grace.<\/p>\n
Kroos worked with Dutch boss Van Gaal at Bayern, and is keen on linking up with the veteran coach once more.<\/p>\n
However Bayern president Hopfner says the Bundesliga champions will not be held to ransom in their negotiations with the player.<\/p>\n
“There will certainly be further talks,” he said.<\/p>\n
“But at some point the player has to say what he wants.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will not exceed certain financial boundaries\u201d<\/p>\n

Hopfner pointed to the case of Michael Ballack, who left the club for Chelsea on a free in 2006, as a similar example.<\/p>\n
“It was the same with Michael Ballack and at some point we withdrew the offer.”<\/p>\n
