Portuguese authorities have revealed Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is the subject of a criminal investigation.<\/p>\n
Officials have refused to confirm what the investigation relates to, with the matter falling under the country’s judicial secrecy law.<\/p>\n
Reports in Brazil and the Netherlands have claimed Scolari is suspected of tax evasion but he has denied any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n
“I have correctly filed all my tax returns in all the countries where I have worked and I have always declared my income,” he said.<\/p>\n
“If anything is wrong, it is not my fault. I hope justice gets to the bottom of the facts.”<\/p>\n
Scolari was head coach of Portugal from 2003-2008 and guided his native Brazil to World Cup glory in the Far East over Germany at the 2002 tournament.<\/p>\n
The 65-year-old began his second spell in the role in 2012 and will lead Brazil when they host this year’s World Cup.<\/p>\n
