Arsene Wenger is reportedly preparing a renewed bid to bring Salomon Kalou back to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

The former Chelsea striker was heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates in January and has since claimed he turned down a deal to join the Gunners, in order to stay with Lille.<\/p>\n

Liverpool, West Ham -and specifically Tottenham\u00a0– were all linked during the previous window but according to the London Evening Standard, Arsenal are in pole position.<\/p>\n

Kalou has two years left on his current deal with the French side but is said to be intent on leaving at the end of the current campaign.<\/p>\n

The Ivorian’s preferred destination would be England – after spending six years at Stamford Bridge – and he could be available for as little as \u00a32.5million this summer.<\/p>\n

He scored a stoppage time winner against Guingamp on Sunday, but went on to admit he would love a return to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Kalou told the BBC World Service: “There has been a lot of talking about me going back to England. I had an amazing time with Chelsea and I always keep that good memory with me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I have the chance to go back, I would love to, because it\u2019s the most exciting league in the world so I would like to try it again.<\/p>\n

“Whatever team comes for me after the World Cup, I can decide where I can develop as a player, where I can have an impact, because it\u2019s important to go to a team who suit me and who give me the opportunity to excel.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Gunners look to have a fight on their hands in their pursuit of Nuremberg’s Josip Drmic.<\/p>\n

Everton and Liverpool are both now thought to be interested, with the Swiss featuring heavily in Gunners round-up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
