{"id":3176,"date":"2014-03-31T03:30:41","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T03:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/africanexaminer.com\/sports\/?p=3176"},"modified":"2014-03-31T03:30:41","modified_gmt":"2014-03-31T03:30:41","slug":"manchester-united-eyeing-former-chelsea-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/africanexaminer.com\/sports\/football\/manchester-united-eyeing-former-chelsea-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United Eyeing Former Chelsea Boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Former Chelsea Carlo Ancelotti will be a contender for the Man United job if David Moyes gets the sack<\/p>\n<div>\n<section>The United board are weighing up their options for the summer should they decide current boss Moyes has to go.<\/p>\n<p>And Real Madrid coach Ancelotti, himself under serious pressure at the Bernabeu, is one of the names being considered at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p>Real have just suffered back-to-back defeats in La Liga and this week face Borussia Dortmund in the last eight of the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>If the Spanish giants were to go out to the Bundesliga club \u2013 for a second season running \u2013 it would leave Italian\u00a0Ancelotti heading out.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<header>His future beyond this season was already in doubt \u2013 with Borussia boss Jurgen Klopp, ironically, tipped to succeed him.<\/header>\n<\/section>\n<section>Klopp, along with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, is also in the running to replace Moyes.<\/p>\n<p>The derby crushing at home to Man City again raised big concerns about the Scot\u2019s ability to motivate the United dressing room.<\/p>\n<p>Should they suffer another pasting in front of their increasingly unhappy fans on Tuesday, when they host Bayern Munich, it will be the final nail in Moyes\u2019 coffin.<\/p>\n<p>Ancelotti, 54, is deemed a far safer appointment than Klopp.<\/p>\n<p>In his first season as Chelsea boss, Ancelotti led the Blues to a first domestic League and FA Cup Double.<\/p>\n<p>Ancelotti could also act as the senior managerial figure while some of United\u2019s class of \u201992 \u2013 Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville \u2013 prove their worth as coaches.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<footer>\u00a0<\/footer>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Chelsea Carlo Ancelotti will be a contender for the Man United job if David Moyes gets the sack The United board are weighing up their options for the summer should they decide current boss Moyes has to go.
