Nigeria striker Peter Odemwingie continued his fine goal scoring form as Stoke City\u00a0recorded their third successive victory with a 1-0 triumph over Hull City\u00a0at the Britannia Stadium.<\/p>\n

Odemwingie struck in the 62nd minute \u2013 firing in from the edge of the box, after collecting the ball from a stray pass by Ahmed Elmohamady \u2013 to register his fourth goal in three games, and his fifth since joining the Potters from Cardiff City in January.<\/p>\n

The home side had earlier been indebted to their goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic, when he kept out David Meyler’s shot, which had taken a wicked deflection, while \u2013 in the first half \u2013 Hull defender Liam Rosenior failed to make the most of a good chance.<\/p>\n

Mark Hughes’s men are finishing his first season in charge strongly, having lost only one of their past nine matches, and won four of their past five.<\/p>\n

They are 10th in the table and their hopes of improving on their best Premier League final position of 11th \u2013 and points tally of 47 \u2013 this term is looking increasingly realistic.<\/p>\n

There has been considerable enthusiasm about Stoke’s results and performances of late \u2013 particularly since the arrival of Odemwengie.<\/p>\n
