{"id":2976,"date":"2014-03-23T03:30:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-23T03:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/africanexaminer.com\/sports\/?p=2976"},"modified":"2014-03-23T03:30:58","modified_gmt":"2014-03-23T03:30:58","slug":"united-set-to-get-result-against-city-in-manchester-derby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/africanexaminer.com\/sports\/football\/united-set-to-get-result-against-city-in-manchester-derby\/","title":{"rendered":"United Set To Get Result Against City In Manchester Derby"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p itemprop=\"description\">David Moyes says Manchester United are heading into Tuesday&#8217;s derby with Manchester City at Old Trafford full of confidence after back-to-back wins.<\/p>\n<p>United, out of the title race after a poor domestic season, followed up their Champions League victory over Olympiakos with a 2-0 win at West Ham.City, who will move three points behind leaders Chelsea with a win, beat United 4-1\u00a0at the Etihad Stadium in September.<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;We&#8217;ll go into our next game confident and ready to get a result,&#8221; said Moyes.<\/div>\n<p>United trail neighbours City, who are third in the Premier League table, by 12 points, with Moyes&#8217;s side having played two games more.<\/p>\n<p>The derby is United&#8217;s first league game back at Old Trafford since they were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool\u00a0on 16 March.<\/p>\n<p>But United bounced back from that setback to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals after overturning a 2-0 first leg deficit against Greek champions Olympiakos\u00a0before winning comfortably at West Ham.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Rooney scored both goals at Upton Park, his first a spectacular lob from just inside the Hammers&#8217; half.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For Wayne to notice the goalkeeper was out of his box when the ball was played up to him, it was just a great piece of skill, great ability and the execution was fantastic,&#8221; added Moyes.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead to the derby with City, Rooney added: &#8220;It&#8217;s an exciting game and hopefully we&#8217;ll get the result.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>David Moyes says Manchester United are heading into Tuesday&#8217;s derby with Manchester City at Old Trafford full of confidence after back-to-back wins.
